On September 18th, 2026 HUD reopened its FY26 CoC NOFO  to accept applications with a new deadline of September 30, 2026 at 8:00PM ET.  The NOFO is unchanged except for the new deadline and the technical correction in the first bullet below. The additional 12 days will allow CoCs to finalize and submit their applications.

• CoCs that have not yet notified project applicants whether they were selected for the Priority Listing may do so now. HUD has made a technical correction to the NOFO to reduce the 15-day notification requirement to 7 days.

 

• Additionally, HUD has published a waiver of 24 CFR 578.51(b) to permit private nonprofit applicants, recipients, and subrecipients of funds awarded under the FY 2026 CoC NOFO to administer rental assistance.
