Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV, also known as Section 8) provides ongoing rental assistance. This program allows households to choose their unit and covers a portion of their rent. The Public Housing Authorities that run HCV programs on Long Island are listed below.
Please note: All HCV programs have waitlists, and often these waitlists are not taking new applicants. It can take several years for people on the waitlist to make it to the top of the list.
