Emergency Food & Shelter Program (EFSP):
This program, administered by the Health and Welfare Council of Long Island (HWCLI), provides funding for rent, mortgage, and utility assistance.

Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG):
-
Nassau County, Town of Islip, Town of Brookhaven, and NYS uses ESG funds to support emergency shelters, rapid rehousing, street outreach and homeless prevention programs. Contact your local jurisdiction for more information.
Interested in operating a shelter?
Shelters for single adults or families require approval from local DSS and NYS shelter certification

Requesting a Letter of Support
The CoC receives frequent requests for letters of support for additional funding opportunities. Please submit all requests to Greta Guarton at gguarton@addressthehomeless.org and include the following information:

Name of Agency/Program

Location of Project (town if known, Nassau or Suffolk)

Population to be served – can include singles or families, disabilities, re-entry, youth, DV, veterans, etc. (must indicate homeless – we will not send letters of support unless it is clear that the population in question is homeless)

Scattered site or single site

If the proposed project will participate in Coordinated Entry (permanent housing/transitional housing)
