New York State Emergency Rental Assistance Program
Due to lack of funds, this program cannot pay most applications submitted after September 21, 2021.
However, the portal is still open and applications will be reviewed and funded if funds are or become available.
Applying for ERAP can help stay eviction proceedings, depending on the judge's discretion.
Residents of Nassau and Suffolk are still encouraged to apply through the state run portal (exception of towns of Hempstead, Oyster Bay, Babylon, Brookhaven, and Islip)
Town of Brookhaven
At the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless, we helped residents of the Town of Brookhaven apply for NYS ERAP. Our involvement with the program ended in December 2021.
